Commitment to
Scholarship

AOII encourages all members to excel academically and has many programs designed to assist women in achieving their academic goals. Expectations are high but the support provided by scholarship programs, academic development officer resources, and fellow members makes success attainable.

Letter from the President

Welcome to the Phi Upsilon chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi. I hope that visiting our website has given you a better idea of who we are and what we strive to be. As members of Purdue’s Panhellenic community, we strive for building strong character and dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty. Our hope is to make a positive impact on the world around us.

Becoming a member of AOII means joining something that is greater than yourself. As sisters, we are bound by ties of friendship. We will always cherish a feeling of fraternity and love for each other. When I think of my sisters, I think of laughter, spending time with my best friends, genuine care and support for one another, and boundless love.

When I joined AOII just 2 years ago, I did not realize all that was in store for me. I signed up for recruitment hoping to get involved, make friends, and most importantly, to find my home. The day I received my bid from AOII, my whole world changed. I had not just joined a sorority, I joined a family. I gained 140 new sisters that day, and started a life-long journey as a member of AOII.

Alpha Omicron Pi is an experience that can enrich your life in so many ways. AOII has inspired me to go above and beyond. It helped me realize my love of leadership, my passion for serving others, my drive for academic excellence, and most importantly, my love for my sisters.

I have had the wonderful privilege of serving as president of Phi Upsilon chapter this past year, and I could not have done it without the wisdom, guidance, and support of my sisters. I will always cherish all that being a member of AOII has given me, and I find comfort knowing that wherever I go, I will always have the love and support of my sisters with me.

Alpha Love,

Evelyn McCarthy
