About Phi Upsilon
Purdue University
Hello! Welcome to the Phi Upsilon chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi here at Purdue University. Choosing where you belong during your college experience is such a meaningful and exciting decision, and I am so glad you are taking the time to learn more about our chapter. AOII is so much more than just a sorority; it is a home away from home, a hug after a long day, someone to talk to you when you need it most. It’s a community of women within Purdue’s Panhellenic community who support, inspire and challenge each other to grow into the best versions of ourselves. When I first began my college journey at Purdue just two years ago, I was looking for genuine, lasting friendships, and a place that I could find inspiring women that would truly care about me. Through Alpha Omicron Pi, I have found exactly what I was looking for and so much more. The women I have met through this chapter have become some of my closest friends, mentors and biggest supporters in all aspects of my life. They have pushed me to step outside of my comfort zone, pursue leadership opportunities and make the absolute most of my college experience. Our chapter is built on the values of character, dignity, scholarship and college loyalty. These values guide everything we do, from supporting each other academically, to serving our community and strengthening the bonds of our sisterhood. Whether sisters are studying together, volunteering, or simply spending time with one another, the relationships we build here last far beyond our years in college. One of the things I admire most about this chapter is the way that our members show up for one another. In moments of celebration or challenge alike, there is always someone to offer encouragement, advice or simply a listening ear. Being surrounded by women who uplift each other creates an environment where we can truly thrive.Joining Alpha Omicron Pi has been one of the most meaningful decisions of my life. The friendships, memories and lessons I have gained from this sisterhood are things that I will carry with me forever and have helped to shape who I am today. Serving as Chapter President has been one of the most meaningful and fulfilling experiences of my time in Alpha Omicron Pi. Through this experience, I have developed an even deeper appreciation for the strength of our sisterhood. Just like being a member of AOII, serving as Chapter President has allowed me to see our tagline, Inspire Ambition, come to life through the women who make this chapter so special. My love for AOII will always run deep and I am endlessly grateful to be surrounded by women who continue to support me and inspire me each and every day.Our Submotto
A submotto reflects the unique spirit and values of each AOII chapter, chosen by its founding members to represent their collective aspirations and culture. It serves as a guiding principle for chapter activities, relationships, and how members engage with one another and the broader community.

AOII VALUES & ENDS
Values
“The object of this Fraternity shall be to encourage a spirit of Fraternity and love among its members; to stand at all times for character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty; to strive for and support the best interests of the colleges and universities in which chapters are installed, and in no way to disregard, injure, or sacrifice those interests for the sake of prestige or advancement of the Fraternity or any of its chapters.”
As expressed in the Object of the Fraternity, Alpha Omicron Pi was founded on the ideals of character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty. All members of the Fraternity, collegiate and alumnae, are expected to live these values to the fullest and carry the spirit of AOII into the world around them.
CHARACTER & DIGNITY
Whether you meet an AOII in class, throughout recruitment, off campus, or even after graduation, she is sure to bring light to your life. Members of the Fraternity are called to carry themselves with confidence as they represent our organization and treat everyone they meet with the utmost respect.
SCHOLARSHIP
AOII encourages all members to excel academically and has many programs designed to assist women in achieving their academic goals. Expectations are high but the support provided by scholarship programs, academic development officer resources, and fellow members makes success attainable. The emphasis on these pursuits was instilled by the four founding members of AOII in 1897, and this commitment remains a strong part of AOII today.
COLLEGE LOYALTY
Members of AOII are called to not only serve their chapters and the Fraternity as a whole, but also to be of service to their communities and universities. Whether they are raising money for a local philanthropic cause or spending time cleaning up a neighborhood park, serving as Student Government President or directing a college Panhellenic Executive Board, our members are excelling as leaders on their college campuses and far beyond.
AOII Ends
Our most ambitious goals for our members are called our “Ends” and are the end-product of what our organization is ultimately working to inspire in our members. The below five Ends have driven the Fraternity’s strategic direction this biennium and our progress towards Inspiring Ambition in all of our members.
